I'm Abbas Rahmat, a student of the Qur'an. I share a way to read it past the translation. The words, the root meanings, the structure, and how one ayah explains another. Careful study you can do yourself.
How this is different
Most Qur'an content gives you conclusions. This course gives you a method so you can check things yourself, and not take anyone's word blindly.
A student's approach
I don't teach as a scholar. I'm a student sharing a method I learned and use. Everything traces back to the Qur'an's own words and primary sources and I say clearly when something is one reading, not a settled fact.
The Qur'an explains itself
No reading of one ayah can contradict another. We use the Qur'an's own words and cross-references first, before anyone's opinion.

Truth over assumption
No forced science, no shortcuts, no repeating what I can't source. When the evidence is clear, I say so. When it isn't, I say that too.

tadabbur
The translation gives you
"Reflect on the Qur'an." A soft word. You nod and move on.
The root shows you more
Tadabbur comes from the root د · ب · ر which means the back of a thing, what lies behind it, what comes after. The same root gives دُبُر (the rear), أَدْبَرَ (to turn away), and تَدْبِير (to plan an affair by thinking through its outcome). So tadabbur is not a soft glance. It is following an ayah to what stands behind it and where it leads.
The Qur'an confirms it
In Surah An-Nisa (4:82), tadabbur is tied directly to checking for contradiction: had it been from other than Allah, they would have found much discrepancy in it. Tadabbur means to examine, cross-check, and follow the Qur'an through, which is exactly how we study.

I'm a student, like you.
I am not a sheikh. I am not a mufti. I do not give fatwas. I am a student, like you.
For years I felt the Qur'an was hiding something from me. I could feel it. Every word seemed to carry more than the simple meaning I was given. But every time I opened a tafsir to find it, I got bored and stopped halfway. It never felt like it was speaking to me.
Then one night I took a single ayah apart. I followed one word back to its root and watched where it led.
The Qur'an opened up in front of me. For the first time, it felt like it was talking to me directly. I have not stopped since.
I will not teach you anything I have not checked myself, all the way to the source. This makes me slow. Allah sees everything, and the fear of leading even one person the wrong way is too heavy for me. So everything I teach is something I have traced with my own hands, and I will show you where it comes from, so you never have to just take my word.
My teachers and sources
Right now I am a student of Mufti Kamran Shehzad, learning directly from him, studying his course Qur'an Fehmi ke Usool. He is my primary teacher.
For the language side, my method in Arabic root analysis is built on the approach of Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan. The method itself draws on the classical dictionaries Lisan ul Arab and Taj ul Uroos, and tafsir from Arab, Egyptian, and South Asian scholars.
I did not follow one tradition blindly. I learned to check everything against the original sources, and that is exactly what I teach. My proof is not a degree. It is a method that works, and that you can check yourself.
